I tried to draw a scene from the time when korea was still in japan's control. Back then, many teenage girls were captured by the japanese soldiers and was forced to be prosititudes for the soldiers. this drawing is about the girl standing in front of the cargo train where it will taker her to a never ending hell and there is no running away.

(( got many ideas from the movie called "spirits' homecoming" ))

This is a technique painting of a tradtional korean drawing pattern. It did took alot of time to make the pattern identical (some of them are alittle bit different).

For this drawing, i was trying to draw a sea themed drawing. I thought only the bottom of the ocean is not yet touched by humans so i drew a bottom sea with a person crumbling away indicating that there are no human there, only sea life.

Portfolieo Drawing

For this drawing, I was trying to describe death without having obvious hint (example, using blood or grave).

I tried to describe death by drawing flowers that are used for funeral like white roses and chrysanthum.

For this drawing, I tried to make people focus to not focus on the center but the side of the drawing. I wanted to draw a very simple yet somehow classical drawing so i drew bundles of flowers on the sides and vines coming out of it.

Observation Drawing

A drawing that i did by looking at a triangle and square sculpture, orange, starfruit, brush and a palete.

A drawing that i did by looking at the right eye of a statue.

I drew a portrait of Stan Lee. I had a very hard time drawing this out of the observation drawings that i did. I had to darken it three time to get the right shading.

Artist Research

Museum Visit

In korea, there was this free museum where people can see all kinds of traditional paintings. The museum was small and had little artifacts, but the paintings and the history of it was very interesting. During my time at the museum i had taken two pictures in secret since the museum didn't allow taking pictures. One was a drawing of a chrysanthemum that was drawn by the 22nd king of korea. The other one was a drawing of a bamboo that was drawn by a very famous chinese painter from the period of song dynasty.
