Do you think using this material is effective in giving his works a meaning?         

By looking at his work and the material he uses, i don't think using bubblegum as the materials gives his works a effective meaning to the work, it only shows how creative and skillful the artist is. I say like this because some of his works doesn't have a meaning to it. Example the high heel on the top. yes, it does shows how detailed the work is made, it has the curves of the ribbon, the size, it looks just like the actual heel. But it doesn't really have any meaning to it, only the impression of a very complicate yet detailed art. He did say he wanted to make a connection to the art history with social history, he did make a connection by using american gum for his work, but that doesn't mean his art gives off a clear, effective meaning. 

 

 

-Is art becoming more about the material it’s made up more than what is being shown?

I think art is becoming more about the material it is made up more than what is being shown because by having a unique way of showing a art, it becomes famous regardless of what the painting or work is showing. People tend to look for something that is "First- ever-made" thing, simple word "unqiue". By having a unique material it gets people attention. Example, millie brown's art is really simple and even a three year old kid can imitate it. But by using a "unique" material to make the art, for her case, vomit, gets people's attention and turns that lame, imitatable thing into art. Not many people now are interested in the art but the material they use. If the material is "unique",it's a creative art. if it' just a art, then there's nothing interesting to look.

 

 

-What should he make next? Why?

I think he should make something that has is showing a american history. By using the american bubblegum, he can easily show a american history, he can make a art about the american revolution. With this art, not only it make people want to look at this art, but the children can also lean about the history while observing it.
