Zdzisław Beksiński Reflection Moment

Many people interpret his art to have a dark and grim atmosphere, he believed they were "optimistic and even funny", can you try and see what he sees.

Zdzislaw Benksinski was a Polish painter specializing in destopian surrealism. His painting are either called "gothic" or "baroque" and had a strong style of a doomsday scenario. With this, people interpret his art to have a dark and grim atmosphere, however, he believed they were "optimistic and even funny". I think he interpret his painting as optimistic because of the how the bright color are surrounded by the dark colors. As you can see the pictures above, in the middle they have a bright-peaceful area surrounded by decaying-gloomy place. He may be indicating that even in the grimest time, there's still something we can do. He might think its funny of how surreal it is, As he said " I wish to paint in such manner as if i were photographing dreams". He might have thought its quite funny to draw a non existant place where everything is mixed together like a milkshake.

What parts of the visual makes it not seem optimistic and funny?

his art doesn't really look optimistc and funny and I think its because of the part where he use black color and draw a skeleton-like people. Mostly, skeleton represent death and he uses very dark and bleak color to paint it so for me, picture that has these looks like mutiple souls from hell, taking their punishment for what they have done in their living time.

A draw a scene in his style, that he describes as "taking a photograph of a dream". Make it creative and detailed, start now.

I drew infinite stairs that is going all over the abyss with a skeletal hand trying to climb up, resulting the stairs to crack.
